Texture Evolution During Cold Forming of Rectangular Hollow Section

This work aims to study the effect of cold forming on texture evolution during manufacturing rectangular hollow sections. Conventional TMCP steel and a direct-quenched in 420 MPa strength level are compared. The was characterized at centerline (S=0) both surfaces (S=0.8) for base material, four flat side one corner samples section. results show that sides steels have minor intensity ∼{554}<225> ∼{112}<110> components an intense component ∼{001}<110> centerline. Generally, any significant difference between size not found intensities conventional were slightly sharper compared steel. most important change is observed with inner samples, where randomly oriented material changes {110}<111>/<112> shear components.
